How to use the Online Notepad
- 1 Click in the yellow notepad and start typing.
- 2 Your note is saved automatically a moment after you stop typing – the dot turns green.
- 3 Copy the note, download it as a .txt file, or clear it when you no longer need it.
A notepad that stays on your device
Most online notepads store your text on their servers. This one does not. Your note is saved with your browser's built-in storage (localStorage), which keeps data on your own device. Nothing you type is sent to Synsi, and the note is not synced to an account – even if you sign in to sync your tool board, the note stays in the browser where you wrote it.
That makes the notepad useful for quick, private jottings: a phone number from a call, a shopping list, a draft message, a few lines of code or a to-do list for the day.
Autosave and multiple tabs
The note is saved automatically about half a second after you stop typing; the dot next to the counters turns green when it is stored. If you open the notepad in several tabs, or pin it as a widget on your Synsi start page, all of them show the same note and update each other.
Pin it to your start page
Use the star button above the notepad to add it to My tools on the Synsi homepage. As a widget it appears as a yellow sticky note that you can type in directly, next to your other favourite tools.
Good to know
- Clearing browser data deletes the note. Browser storage is removed when you clear site data, use a private window that you then close, or when some browsers clean up storage for sites you have not visited in a long time. Download important notes as a text file.
- One device, one note. Because nothing is uploaded, a note written on your laptop does not appear on your phone.
- Size. A note can hold up to 100,000 characters – roughly 15,000 words.
- Statistics. Words, characters and lines are counted as you type. For reading time, sentences and paragraphs, use the word counter.

Frequently asked questions
Where is my note stored?
Only in your browser, using its local storage. It is never uploaded to Synsi or any other server.
Will my note still be there tomorrow?
Yes, as long as you use the same browser on the same device and do not clear its site data. Download important notes to be safe.
Can I use the notepad offline?
Once the page has loaded you can keep typing without a connection; the note is saved locally either way.
Is the notepad synced to my account?
No. A Synsi account only syncs the layout of your tool board. Notes stay on the device where you wrote them.
