How to use the WebP to PNG
- 1 Choose the output format (JPG, PNG or WebP) and, for JPG and WebP, the quality.
- 2 Optionally make the images smaller: after you add an image, its width and height are filled in – lower one and the other follows to keep the aspect ratio.
- 3 Drop your images on the page and download them one by one or all at once as a ZIP file.
Keep transparency
Unlike JPG, PNG supports transparency, so logos, icons and stickers saved as WebP keep their transparent background when converted to PNG.
When to choose PNG over JPG
Choose PNG for graphics with sharp edges, flat colours or text – and for anything you want to edit further without quality loss. For photos, JPG gives a much smaller file.
Compatibility
PNG is supported by every image editor, office program and design tool, which makes it the safest choice for graphics you received as WebP.
Frequently asked questions
Does the PNG keep the transparent background?
Yes. Transparency in the WebP image is preserved in the PNG.
Is WebP to PNG lossless?
The conversion itself is lossless; any loss from the original WebP compression remains.
