Sync settings

Choose what your account keeps in step on every device where you are signed in.

  • My tools

Always synced: the tools on your board, their order and size.

  • The windows open on your start page, including what you typed in them.

  • Every note in the notepad – on the notepad page, on your board and in windows.

  • Every list of website shortcuts – on the shortcuts page, on your board and in windows.

  • Every grid in the cover grid maker – on its page, on your board and in windows.

  • Every list of bookmarked organisations in the OIN lookup – on its page, on your board and in windows.

  • Keeps your pipeline and saved recipes on all your devices. Your files are never synced – only the steps and settings.

Turning something off removes it from your account straight away. Your devices keep their own copy.

Notifications

Tools that can tell you about something new while a Synsi tab is open, even when you are in another tab or app. Choose them for this browser.

This browser cannot show notifications from websites.
Notifications are blocked for this site. Allow them in your browser’s site settings (the icon left of the address), then switch them on here.
  • Says “New message” while a Synsi tab is open – never who wrote it or what.

Your choice is stored in this browser only. Notifications never show personal content such as a message or a number. They work while a Synsi tab is open; closed tabs get none.

Convert pasted text into a table (Excel, CSV)

Paste the text. The studio works out how it is laid out, splits it into columns and gives you a table to check and export.

How to use the Convert Text to a Table

  1. 1 Paste your text with “Paste text”, or drop a .txt file. Or try the example.
  2. 2 Check the preview. The layout (delimiter, aligned columns or Markdown table) is detected; change it if it is wrong.
  3. 3 Say whether the first line holds the column names.
  4. 4 Export as Excel or CSV.

Layouts it understands

  • Delimited text: tabs (what you get when you copy cells from a spreadsheet or a web table), commas, semicolons or pipes. Quoted fields work as in CSV.
  • Columns lined up with spaces: the layout of terminal output and old reports. Two or more spaces (or a tab) separate columns, so a single space inside a name does not split it.
  • Markdown tables: the pipes and the separator row are understood, including escaped \| inside a cell, and the separator row is dropped.
  • Your own delimiter: any text, for example :: or ->.

When the layout is not regular

If the text is irregular but follows a pattern, use “Extract fields from text” instead: a template such as Invoice {number} dated {date} pulls the values out of each matching line, and lines that don’t fit are skipped and counted. Records written as Name: value lines in blocks separated by a blank line become one row each.

Why export as Excel

A table of zip codes or ids exported as Excel keeps 01234 as text. Columns are typed from their values, and you can override them: see keeping leading zeros.

Limits

Columns lined up by character position with single-space separators (fixed-width files) are not detected automatically; use “Split a column” with positions. Text longer than 25 MB is refused.

Frequently asked questions

How do I paste cells from a spreadsheet?

Copy the cells and paste them: they arrive tab-separated, which is detected automatically.

Why are two words in one cell?

For space-aligned text, a single space does not separate columns, only two or more. A name like “Anna de Vries” stays together.

Can I convert a Markdown table back to Markdown?

Yes. Export a table as Markdown; the pipes inside cells are escaped.
