Sync settings

Choose what your account keeps in step on every device where you are signed in.

  • My tools

Always synced: the tools on your board, their order and size.

  • The windows open on your start page, including what you typed in them.

  • Every note in the notepad – on the notepad page, on your board and in windows.

  • Every list of website shortcuts – on the shortcuts page, on your board and in windows.

  • Every grid in the cover grid maker – on its page, on your board and in windows.

  • Every list of bookmarked organisations in the OIN lookup – on its page, on your board and in windows.

  • Keeps your pipeline and saved recipes on all your devices. Your files are never synced – only the steps and settings.

Turning something off removes it from your account straight away. Your devices keep their own copy.

Notifications

Tools that can tell you about something new while a Synsi tab is open, even when you are in another tab or app. Choose them for this browser.

This browser cannot show notifications from websites.
Notifications are blocked for this site. Allow them in your browser’s site settings (the icon left of the address), then switch them on here.
  • Says “New message” while a Synsi tab is open – never who wrote it or what.

Your choice is stored in this browser only. Notifications never show personal content such as a message or a number. They work while a Synsi tab is open; closed tabs get none.

Merge CSV files – also when the columns differ

Add the files, and the studio lines the columns up by name. It tells you which columns a file was missing. Nothing is uploaded.

How to use the Merge CSV Files

  1. 1 Drop all the files on the studio at once (up to ten). The first becomes the source.
  2. 2 In the Merge step, tick the files to add below it. Choose whether to keep all columns, only shared ones, or only the source’s.
  3. 3 If a column is named differently in each file (“email” and “mail address”), list them as synonyms under More options.
  4. 4 Check the notes about missing columns, and download the merged file.

Same columns or not

Merging files that share a header is a simple stack: the rows of the second file go below the rows of the first. The harder, and more common, case is files that almost match – one has an extra column, another calls it “E-mail address” where the rest say “email”, a third lists the columns in another order. Simple mergers that append lines blindly then produce rows that no longer line up.

The Merge step matches columns by name, ignoring case, spaces and punctuation, so “Email”, “E-mail” and “e mail” are one column. The result can contain all columns of all files (cells are left empty where a file has no such column), only the columns every file shares, or only the source’s columns. For names that differ more, add synonym groups, one per line: email = mail address. You can match by position instead of name when the files have no meaningful headers.

What you are told

For each file the studio notes how many result columns it lacked and how many of its columns did not make it into the result. Add “a column with the file name” if you need to know which row came from which file – useful for monthly exports.

Limits

Every file must have a header row as its first line, and files are read with automatic settings (they can be of different encodings and delimiters). Merging stacks rows; to add columns from another file by a key, use join on a column. After merging, remove duplicate rows is often the next step.

Frequently asked questions

Can I merge CSV and Excel files together?

Yes. Each file is read on its own, so a CSV and an .xlsx (its first sheet) can be merged.

What if the column order differs?

When matching by name the order does not matter; the result follows the order in which columns first appear.

Is there a limit on the number of files?

Ten files and 100 MB in total per workspace, 25 MB per file.
